Record Audio

Record Audio makes it easy to capture voice, system sound, or even app-specific audio on your Mac. Perfect for podcasts, lectures, interviews, or sound-only content creation.

Step 1: Click “Audio Only”

Open 1001 Record, and from the main interface, click the “Audio Only” button to begin setting up an audio recording session.

Step 2: Grant Microphone Permission

When prompted, click “Allow” to give the app permission to access your microphone. This is required by macOS for any app that captures audio input.

Step 3: Choose Your Audio Sources

  • Microphone: From the dropdown, select the microphone you want to use (e.g., built-in mic, external mic).

  • System Sound: Enable system sound capture to record any audio output from your Mac.

  • App-Specific Audio (Optional): Want to record sound from just one app (e.g., Chrome or Music)? Select that app — it must be open and visible on your desktop.

🎧 You can mix both microphone and system audio for a complete recording.

💡 Tip: If you want 1001 Record to remember your selected audio sources next time, go to Settings and check “Remember the previously selected audio source.”

During recording, you can toggle the microphone and system sound on or off at any time, giving you full control over the sound mix.

Step 5: Stop Recording and Export

When you're done, click the stop button to end the recording.

After that, you can:

  • Rename the audio file

  • Change the save location

  • Merge audio for post-editing flexibility
